When building a pool, the word "warranty" can offer peace of mind—but only if you understand what it truly includes. At DSH Homes and Pools, we stand by our craftsmanship, but it's just as important that homeowners understand the terms and limitations of their warranty.
This article breaks down what our warranty covers, what it doesn’t, and how to stay protected as a pool owner.
1. What Does the DSH Homes and Pools Warranty Cover?
DSH Pools provides a limited one-year warranty on workmanship and materials starting from the date of project completion.
What’s Included:
Defects in materials or workmanship within the first 12 months
Repairs for qualifying issues at DSH’s discretion
Warranty applies only if all contract terms and payments are fulfilled
This limited warranty gives you peace of mind during the first year of ownership, while your pool settles and adjusts to use.
2. What’s Not Covered Under the Warranty?
To help you avoid surprises, here’s what the DSH Pools limited warranty does not cover:
Appliances, decking, or accessories
Equipment and accessories (covered separately by manufacturer)
Mistreatment, neglect, or lack of maintenance
Work performed by other contractors (electrical, fencing, landscaping, etc.)
Equipment or appliances purchased independently by the homeowner
Consequential damages beyond repair of the defect
We encourage all clients to coordinate full-scope projects with us to ensure warranty protection.
3. Manufacturer Warranties
Equipment like filters, pumps, heaters, and automation systems comes with its warranties from the manufacturer—usually 1–3 years.
What You Should Do:
Register your equipment with the manufacturer
Keep records and warranty cards
Contact the manufacturer or approved repair centers directly for service
DSH Homes and Pools can assist with initial setup and documentation if needed.
4. How to Maintain Warranty Coverage
To keep your warranty valid, you must:
Maintain proper water chemistry and cleaning routines
Notify DSH Pools of any issues within 15 days of discovery
Submit written notice to our office as listed in your contract
Avoid modifications or work from third parties unless approved
5. Warranty Misconceptions
It’s worth clarifying some common misconceptions:
Warranties don’t cover cosmetic wear (fading, scaling)
You’re still responsible for seasonal care (freezing, storm prep)
We cannot warrant independently sourced equipment, even if installed by our team
When in doubt, ask us—we’re happy to clarify.
